Our
downtown office is located at 434 Magnolia Avenue,
Panama City, Florida. The building was originally a
church. On May 16, 1931, the building located at 424 N.
Magnolia Avenue was dedicated as the Seventh-Day
Adventist Church of Panama City. What is amazing about
the building is that it was built during the heart of
the Great Depression through the donations of land,
lumber, bricks and labor of the church members.
The church building also served as a school house for
the children of the congregation.
Through
the years, Chuck Isler's father, Charlie Isler,
purchased the church when the congregation grew too
large. An addition was made to the building, adding a
front lobby, conference room and upstairs offices, and
the address was changed to 434 Magnolia Avenue.
Nevertheless, the essential structure of the building
remains the same today as it was over seventy years ago:
the original hardwood floors remain, and the steeple is
still visible from the parking lot. We are proud to
preserve a piece of Bay County's history at 434 Magnolia
Avenue. |
